Equipment

  • 1 skillet for cooking beef
  • 1 deep skillet or fryer for frying croquettes
  • 1 bowl for mixing filling

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes firm
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Cook ground beef with minced garlic, chili flakes, soy sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fragrant. Let cool slightly.
  • Mix the cooked beef with mashed potatoes in a bowl until fully blended. Chill mixture for 20 minutes to ease shaping.
  • Form the mixture into balls or small logs.
  • Coat each croquette by rolling in flour, dipping in beaten eggs, then coating with breadcrumbs.
  • Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry croquettes for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve warm with spicy mayo or garlic aioli.

Notes

  • Use firm mashed potatoes to maintain croquette structure.
  • Chill filling to make shaping easier.
  • Fry at consistent temperature for even crispiness.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated up to 2 days and reheat by baking or frying.
