Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions
 

  • Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let sit 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Mix flour and salt in a large bowl, then add yeast mixture and olive oil; knead until dough is smooth.
  • Cover dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Divide dough into 8 pieces, flatten each and place mozzarella cheese in center; fold dough around cheese and shape into knots.
  • Mix garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  • Brush knots with beaten egg wash and sprinkle with garlic mixture.
  • Bake knots 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Add extra mozzarella for a cheesier bomb.
  • Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
