- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (6-8 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ¾ cup fresh basil leaves finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning blend
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

Pat chicken breasts dry and pound to an even ¾-inch thickness.
Let chicken rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
In a bowl, mix chopped basil, garlic, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, lemon zest, and lemon juice into a chunky paste.
Season chicken on both sides with salt and pepper.
Rub basil mixture evenly over both sides of each chicken breast.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Place coated chicken in skillet and cook undisturbed 6-7 minutes until golden brown.
Flip chicken and cook another 5-6 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Remove chicken from pan and rest 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
