  • 6 slices brioche or challah bread
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • pinch of salt
  • butter or cooking spray for greasing
  • maple syrup powdered sugar, or berries for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a standard muffin tin generously.
  • Cut each bread slice into quarters and gently press 3 to 4 pieces into each muffin cup to form a cup shape.

  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cups, allowing the custard to soak into the bread.
  • Lightly press the bread down to ensure full absorption of the custard.
