Equipment

  • 1 large pot for melting butter and marshmallows
  • 2 12-cup muffin tin pans lightly greased for molding nests
  • 1 rubber spatula for mixing ingredients
  • 1 zipper top bag for coloring shredded coconut

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 20 oz mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 9 oz Rice Krispies cereal
  • 3 cups unsweetened shredded coconut
  • gel food coloring of your choice
  • 1 1/2 cup Nutella hazelnut spread
  • 108 mini Cadbury eggs

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large pot over low heat and melt the butter with salt.
  • Add 1 1/2 bags of mini marshmallows and stir constantly until melted.
  • Remove from heat, then stir in vanilla extract and salt.
  • Add half of the Rice Krispies cereal and gently mix until coated.
  • Fold in the remaining cereal and marshmallows until fully combined.
  • Lightly grease two 12-cup muffin tins with cooking spray.
  • Scoop 3-4 tablespoons of mixture and mold into muffin tin cups to form nests.
  • Allow nests to set for 30 minutes to hold their shape.
  • Place shredded coconut and food coloring in a zipper bag and shake to color evenly.
  • Top each nest with a tablespoon of Nutella spread.
  • Sprinkle colored coconut over Nutella and place three mini Cadbury eggs in each nest.
  • Carefully remove nests from muffin tins and serve.

Notes

  • Leave an indentation in nests for Nutella topping.
  • Use multiple colors of food coloring for vibrant coconut.
  • Remove nests gently to avoid breaking.
