Equipment

  • 1 nonstick skillet
  • 1 small saucepan
  • 1 Spoon for basting the salmon
  • 1 plate for serving

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 ounces each, skin on
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Black sesame seeds optional garnish

Instructions

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to help the seasoning stick and ensure a crispy crust.
  • Rub each salmon fillet with olive oil, then evenly sprinkle Cajun seasoning and a pinch of salt on all sides.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon skin-side up and sear without moving for 3 minutes.
  • Flip the salmon so the skin side is down and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic, stirring and simmering for 2-3 minutes until glossy.
  • Remove the sauce from heat and stir in lemon juice for brightness.
  • Pour the honey butter sauce over the salmon in the skillet and spoon it over the fillets while cooking for 3-5 more minutes until the fish is opaque and flaky.
  • Transfer salmon to a serving plate, drizzle with remaining sauce, sprinkle with parsley and optional black sesame seeds.
  • Serve with lemon wedges for a fresh, tangy contrast.

Notes

  • Reduce Cajun seasoning for milder spice.
  • Use unsalted butter to control sodium.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
