Description
This Instant Pot Beef Tips recipe is easy to make and results in incredibly tender beef with rich flavors. Perfect for a comforting meal any day of the week!
Ingredients
2 lbs beef tips (chuck or sirloin), cut into 1-inch pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
1. Set the Instant Pot to ‘Sauté’ mode. Add olive oil and let it heat up.
2. Season the beef tips with salt and pepper, then add them to the pot in batches, browning on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
3. Remove the browned beef from the pot and set aside. Add diced onion and garlic to the pot, sautéing until translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
4. Return the beef tips to the pot, along with beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, dried thyme, and paprika. Stir well to combine.
5. Close the lid of the Instant Pot and set it to ‘Manual’ or ‘Pressure Cook’ on high pressure for 20 minutes.
6. Once cooking is complete, allow for a natural release of pressure for about 10 minutes before performing a quick release for any remaining pressure.
7. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl until smooth and stir into the liquid in the pot. Set to ‘Sauté’ mode again and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until thickened.
8. Serve hot over rice or mashed potatoes.
Notes
You can add vegetables like carrots or mushrooms during step 4 if desired.
