These Salisbury Steak Meatballs are a delicious twist on the classic dish, combining tender beef meatballs with a rich mushroom gravy. Perfect for a comforting family dinner!
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup beef broth
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp ketchup
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
2. Form the mixture into meatballs (about 1.5 inches in diameter).
3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the meatballs on all sides (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, melt butter and add sliced mushrooms; cook until soft.
5. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
6. Add ketchup and bring to a simmer until the gravy thickens.
7. Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the gravy for an additional 10 minutes.
8. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or noodles.
Notes
This recipe can be made ahead of time and reheated when ready to serve. Adjust seasonings according to taste.
