  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Description

This Louisiana Shrimp Dip is bold, creamy, and packed with Cajun flavors. Juicy shrimp are mixed into a rich, cheesy dip with just the right amount of heat. It’s the ultimate appetizer for game day, parties, or any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

For the Dip:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (like Louisiana Hot Sauce)
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Cook the Shrimp:

Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped shrimp, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until shrimp are pink and cooked through. Remove from heat.

2. Make the Dip Base:

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth and well combined.

3. Add Cheese & Shrimp:

Fold in the cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, and cooked shrimp (reserving a few shrimp for garnish). Mix well.

4. Bake:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the dip mixture to a greased 8×8-inch baking dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until hot and bubbly.

5. Serve & Enjoy:

Top with reserved shrimp, green onions, and parsley. Serve warm with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or tortilla chips.

Notes

  • Make it spicier by adding extra cayenne or more hot sauce.
  • Use crawfish or crab instead of shrimp for a seafood twist.
  • For a smoky flavor, add a few dashes of liquid smoke.
  • Make it ahead! Assemble the dip and refrigerate until ready to bake
