Hearty Mixed Grill Platter with Crispy Fries: A Meat Lover’s Dream on a Plate

  • Author: Tyla
  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 4–6 servings

Description

This is not your average backyard BBQ—it’s the ultimate mixed grill platter stacked with juicy grilled steak, herby chicken, spicy sausage, and a handful of smoky veggies, all cozied up next to golden, crispy fries. It’s the kind of meal that silences a table because everyone’s too busy chewing. Served family-style or piled high on your own plate (no judgment), this is comfort food at full blast, built to satisfy your biggest cravings.

Ingredients

For the mixed grill:
– 1 lb flank steak or ribeye, seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder
– 2 boneless chicken thighs or breasts, marinated (see below)
– 2–3 spicy or smoked sausages, sliced if you like
– 1 red bell pepper, sliced into thick strips
– 1 red onion, quartered
– 1 zucchini, sliced lengthwise
– Olive oil, for brushing
– Salt & pepper, to taste

Chicken marinade:
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 1 tbsp lemon juice
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tsp paprika
– 1 tsp dried oregano
– Salt and pepper

For the crispy fries:
– 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into matchsticks
– 2 tbsp cornstarch
– Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
– Salt, garlic powder, and paprika to season

Instructions

Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
Whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 12 hours is even better).

Step 2: Prep the Fries
Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes. Drain, pat dry, and toss with cornstarch. This little trick makes them extra crispy.

Step 3: Grill the Meats & Veggies
Heat a grill or grill pan to medium-high. Brush the veggies with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill the steak (about 3–4 min per side for medium), the chicken (5–6 min per side), the sausages (until browned and cooked through), and veggies (until slightly charred and tender). Let the steak rest before slicing it against the grain.

Step 4: Fry the Fries
Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry potatoes in batches until golden and crisp (about 3–4 minutes). Drain on paper towels and immediately season with salt, garlic powder, and paprika.

Step 5: Assemble That Platter
Layer everything beautifully on a large serving tray—steak slices, chicken pieces, sausages, grilled veggies, and a big pile of fries. Add small bowls of dipping sauces if you like (think garlic aioli, BBQ sauce, chimichurri, or even spicy ketchup).

Notes

Use lamb chops, pork chops, or shrimp to mix up the protein
– Swap fries for wedges, sweet potato fries, or crispy roasted potatoes
– Add halloumi or paneer for a cheesy twist
– Grill corn on the cob for a summer vibe
