Description
This is not your average fruit platter. Think smoky grilled apple slices wrapped in salty prosciutto, drizzled with warm honey, and maybe kissed with a little fresh thyme or creamy cheese if you’re feeling fancy. It’s one of those deceptively simple dishes that feels super elevated but takes like 10 minutes. Sweet, savory, sticky, and just a little charred — it’s the appetizer that disappears first at the party (and also makes a killer snack when you’re alone and want to feel extra).
Ingredients
– 2 crisp apples (Honeycrisp, Pink Lady, or Fuji work great), cored and sliced into thick rounds or wedges
– 6–8 slices prosciutto (cut in half if needed)
– 2 tbsp honey (plus more for drizzling)
– 1 tsp olive oil
– A pinch of flaky salt
– Optional: fresh thyme leaves, black pepper, or soft cheese like goat cheese or brie
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Grill
Get your grill or grill pan nice and hot. Medium-high heat is your sweet spot.
Step 2: Prep the Apples
Toss your apple slices with a bit of olive oil to prevent sticking. You can also brush your grill lightly with oil for good measure.
Step 3: Grill Those Beauties
Place apples on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until grill marks appear and they’re just tender. Don’t overcook — you want them soft but not mushy.
Step 4: Wrap in Prosciutto
Remove the apples from the grill. Once cool enough to handle, wrap each slice with a strip of prosciutto. If the slices are large, you can secure them with a toothpick.
Step 5: Drizzle & Finish
Arrange on a platter and drizzle with warm honey. Sprinkle with flaky salt and fresh thyme if using. Want to go extra? Add a dollop of goat cheese or a smear of brie under the prosciutto before wrapping.
