A tropical twist on classic macaroni, infused with sweet and tangy Hawaiian BBQ flavors. Perfect as a side dish or a main course!
Ingredients
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 cup shredded cooked chicken
1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
1/2 cup BBQ sauce (preferably Hawaiian style)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup diced bell pepper (red or yellow)
1/4 cup sliced green onions
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, shredded chicken, pineapple chunks, BBQ sauce, diced bell pepper, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well.
4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
7. Remove from oven, sprinkle with sliced green onions, and serve warm.
Notes
This dish can be customized by adding vegetables like peas or corn. For a spicier kick, consider adding jalapeños or hot sauce.
