This hearty beef stroganoff recipe features tender beef strips in a creamy mushroom sauce served over egg noodles, making it a comforting and satisfying meal for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 lb beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup sour cream
Salt and pepper to taste
12 oz egg noodles
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add chopped onions and garlic, sauté until translucent.
4. Add mushrooms and cook until softened (about 5 minutes).
5. Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
6. Reduce heat to low, then stir in the sour cream; return the cooked beef to the skillet and mix well.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Serve beef stroganoff over a bed of creamy egg noodles, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated. Feel free to substitute other types of pasta or add vegetables as desired.
