Ingredients
2 slices of whole-grain bread
1 ripe avocado
4 oz of smoked salmon (lox)
1 tbsp capers
1/2 lemon (juiced)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh dill or chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Toast the slices of whole-grain bread until golden brown.
2. While the bread is toasting, cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
3. Mash the avocado with a fork, then add lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
4. Spread the mashed avocado evenly over each slice of toasted bread.
5. Top each toast with slices of smoked salmon.
6. Sprinkle capers on top and garnish with fresh dill or chives if desired.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
