Description
This delicious Apple Orchard Chicken recipe combines tender chicken with sweet apples and aromatic spices, making it a perfect dish for autumn or any family gathering.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cups of sliced apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
1 cup of apple cider
1/4 cup of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Fresh thyme for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Sear the chicken breasts for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown, then remove from skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, add sliced apples, apple cider, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
5. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some of the apple mixture over the top.
6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 74°C).
7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh thyme.
