This Caprese Salad with Balsamic Glaze is a fresh, simple dish that celebrates the best of summer produce. Made with juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fragrant basil, and a sweet-tangy balsamic glaze, it’s the perfect starter or light side dish. Ready in just minutes—no cooking required!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 3 large ripe tomatoes, sliced

  • 12 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

  • Salt, to taste

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. On a serving platter or large plate, arrange alternating slices of tomato and mozzarella in a circular pattern or layered row.

  2. Tuck basil leaves in between the slices.

  3. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the salad.

  4. Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

  5. Finish with a drizzle of balsamic glaze across the top.

  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use tomatoes at room temperature.

  • You can make your own balsamic glaze by simmering balsamic vinegar until thickened.
