Description
Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges are a healthier, easier version of your typical oven-baked fries. They come out crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside — all thanks to the magic of the air fryer. These wedges are seasoned to perfection with a blend of savory and slightly sweet spices that make them addictively tasty. Plus, they’re a breeze to make, and you don’t need to mess with a ton of oil like you do with traditional frying methods. Whether you’re serving them as a side dish, a snack, or with your favorite dipping sauce, these sweet potato wedges will become your go-to comfort food in no time.
Ingredients
2 medium sweet potatoes (about 1 pound)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper for heat
Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Cut them into wedges — try to make them as evenly sized as possible so they cook at the same rate. You can cut each potato into about 8 wedges, depending on the size of the sweet potato.
In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato wedges with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. If you like a bit of heat, sprinkle in the cayenne pepper. Make sure all the wedges are evenly coated with the seasoning and oil mixture.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the seasoned sweet potato wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook them in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer. Air fry the wedges for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they’re golden brown and crispy on the edges. If you like them extra crispy, air fry for an additional 2–3 minutes.
Once the wedges are perfectly crispy, remove them from the air fryer. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if you’d like, and serve immediately. These are perfect as a side dish with burgers, grilled chicken, or just as a tasty snack on their own.
Notes
These sweet potato wedges are great on their own, but they’re even better when paired with a dipping sauce. Try them with ranch, ketchup, or a tangy aioli. If you want to keep it on the healthier side, a simple Greek yogurt-based dip or hummus works wonderfully as well. They’re also perfect alongside a big salad or in a bowl with grilled chicken and veggies for a balanced meal.
