Air Fryer Fish Recipe

  • Author: Tylarecipes

Description

Cooking fish in the air fryer is a quick and easy way to get crispy, flavorful fish without the mess of deep frying. This recipe works well for a variety of fish fillets, such as cod, tilapia, or haddock.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 4 fish fillets (such as cod, tilapia, or haddock)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray (for coating)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Fish
Pat the fish fillets dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture. This helps the coating stick better and gives the fish a crispy texture.

2. Make the Coating
In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix the ingredients well.

3. Dip the Fish
Dip each fish fillet into the beaten egg, making sure it’s fully coated, then dredge it in the breadcrumb mixture. Press the breadcrumbs gently onto the fish to ensure they stick. Repeat with the remaining fillets.

4. Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.

5. Air Fry the Fish
Lightly coat the air fryer basket with olive oil or use cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the coated fish fillets in the basket, ensuring they are not overlapping.

Notes

  • If you prefer a lighter option, you can skip the breadcrumbs and simply season the fish with your favorite herbs and spices before air frying.
  • Experiment with different fish varieties such as salmon or haddock, adjusting the cook time based on thickness.
  • Serve the fish with a side of tartar sauce, coleslaw, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
